St.Lucas, recycled metal, art nouveau to rock ’n’ roll
Trained at the St.Lucas school of arts in Antwerp, Sofie refined centuries-old smithing techniques into a new visual language. She often starts from the softly winding lines of art nouveau, just as easily passes by way of art deco — and more than once ends with a hefty dose of rock ’n’ roll.

Jewels for the Grote Prijs Martine Tanghe 2026
For the Grote Prijs Martine Tanghe, VRT’s language prize for creative and outstanding use of language in the spoken media, Sofie designed two unique jewels for this year’s winners. The prize was presented on 16 October 2026 at the Taalfeest in Antwerp, during the Week van het Nederlands (Dutch Language Week). Kristien Bonneure won both the jury prize and the audience prize.
